Right click on the Folder we were just working on, the one that should have the name of the mod, and zip it. You should be able to right click it and select Add to Archive.
Go to Mod Organizer. Click on the Install a new mod from an archive button on the top left. Navigate to your Desktop.
Choose the. Expand the folders until you see the 'Data' folder. Right click it and choose 'Set data directory' and Click 'Ok'. Mod is now installed. This will make it so you know when a new update is available. You may also add check-marks in the Categories section for better organizing.
You can now delete any folders and files you may have created on the Desktop. If you want to keep the zip file you can always send it to the OblivionMod Organizerdownloads folder and replace the old one with the.
When you've found one to your liking, download the file and extract the archive as well. Generally, you'll have to just copy the ENB files from the archive you just extracted and copy it to your Skyrim root folder as well.
This is not the same for every ENB, so make sure you read through the guide that the author of the ENB preset has written for you. A few files should be backed up before adding or changing an ENB. I would appreciate any feedback on this as it is something I expect to post often and I hate to give bogus or useless information. You may not need a full reinstall - if you think your problem is caused by a mod, you may be able to do a revert to vanilla - this will wipe your data folder, then replace the original game files with no trace of any mods. A system restore point will not bring back a deleted Oblivion, but will save your existing Registry settings. When you uninstall Oblivion it doesn't really uninstall everything. Then when you start adding mods before you have started the game, some things may not get initialized properly.
The game uninstaller ONLY removes those files placed by the original install from the disk. It does NOT remove your mods, save games or Oblivion. In fact, it leaves behind more than it removes. If all of these left overs are not cleaned up they can come back to haunt you when you reinstall. If the problem was caused by a mod, that mod is still there. If it is a bad or corrupt Registry entry, it is still there.
If it is a corrupt save, it is still there. Here is my recommended procedure for uninstalling and reinstalling. Please follow it exactly, and don't skip any steps. My instructions assume you are using Windows XP and have installed Oblivion into the default location. Another example would be installing a mod that fully converts the game into maybe Game of Thrones style campaign. Also, when you enable mods, achievements and ironman mode will be disabled. Ironman mode is a more hardcore version of the game where you cannot switch rulers or manually save the game when you want.
