Psycome vol 5 pdf download

This volume lays a lot of Renko's origins out on the table and introduces the rest of her twisted family. The battles are fairly visceral. Most of the tourney is relay races or "gather this many materials" races, but beating your opponent silly is allowed. And boy, are those beatings silly, lol, we got characters dressed like Kigurumi and a certain fast food mascot clown, to our standby cast of the cute young cannibal and our bag headed monster trying their best to help Kyosuke and class A.

Shamaya even gets a nice moment in this one, as all the first, second, and third year classes are participating. The conclusion, like usual for this series, gives you a sense of direction for the finale. It seems like they're setting up for Eiri's family view spoiler [ to be sore losers in the battle for a future son in law. I was kind of rooting for Eiri, so I feel bad she's destined to likely be the loser I'm going to guess Eiri is probably going to oppose her parents' manipulative plans and take out those who would harm Renko.

This may already sound like I had no enjoyment with this volume whatsoever, but there were many things that actually happened both plot- and characterwise which also are a great way to end everything with the sixth volume.

The ending has some surprises that really rem 6. The ending has some surprises that really remind me of plot twists that I had the pleasure to experience in the first volume. It still isn't anything extremely groundbreaking for me to feel proud that I didn't waste my time with the series, but I at least get the feeling that the author is trying to shift his story into a more serious tone, which is something that I happily welcome.

Let me keep on talking about that for a bit. It is common for Mizuki to try to break the ice with several bad boob jokes. Don't get me wrong: there are still several fanservice scenes, but some of them at least come with an existing punch line that can be quite amusing, for example Reiko dressing into a school swimsuit and doing some pervy workout sessions only for Fuyou to give her a rating of zero. This volume truly could have had the possibility to be on-par with the first book but the base premise was pretty weak and I wasn't invested at all, which was the reason that I didn't even kept on reading the story.

This may has to do with my personal disinterest for any form of "school-sport event" Arc. None of the competitions attracted me in any way.

It was clear as day that Kyousuke and Reiko would face each other in the final competition so the author frustratingly tried to make those contests interesting in any way that was feasibly possible with writing in some new crazy characters that would work as antagonists for this volume. That had both advantages and disadvantages. While the characters truly had some issues, that would make them interesting in a way I would have preferred for them to have some kind of backstory to know them better, instead the author really emphasized their craziness in their entirety with all of them trying to kill Kyousuke, even though we all already knew that this would never happen, so boredom ensued once again.

It was nice to see that Shamaya had finally achieved to get some screen time and we explored her character in a way. Seeing how she would be ready to give up the whole competition for the protagonist was a nice touch and while it probably was only written for some fanservice, her owning some sex toys and ironically being in the Public Morals Comittee was ironic and hilarious at the same time, shaping her character in a way.

One small positive thing that I can say about this whole arc is the fact that it is easy to make small side characters appear in big fashion. Bob, Chihiro and Michirou had a reappearance that wasn't that long lasting unfortunately. After having finished this volume I can safely say that we will probably never have any important interactions with them ever again and they truly just exist to write some slapstick jokes and then immediately get out of the scene again.

What a shame. With the already aforementioned arguments that I pointed out it was a bit difficult to go through the whole story. The only two conflicts that were interesting in this story were the main one, which would only get interesting by the end, with Kyousuke and Renko having to face each other. The other was Maina having insecurity issues because everyone has having big expectations from her. It had a nice resolution with everyone having respect for Maina after seeing how much she tries, even though Ayaka was doing more harm then good.

While having said all of those things I can at least say that the main conflict had also a pretty good way of ending the book and establishing everything for the last novel, showing some development between Renko and Kyousuke and them pretty much being end-game if the last volume doesn't end in an completely unexpected way, but also finding out more about Renko and what it means for her to be an experiment.

We even got some characterization by her "mother" and why she acted the way she did in here. The Epilogue also shows that we can already expect some interesting revelations for the climax and the reappearance of Ayaka and Kyousukes parents - or at least their father.

My opinions of this novel didn't get any higher and I doubt that the last novel will change anything on that department so I guess you could say that this was a pretty mediocre ride with it's own up and downs. There still are some things to enjoy in here and the last volume will probably be a lot more plot oriented and character driven then any other, but this still still stands as a basic RomCom in the long run, so if you don't like that, then avoid this. I will try to be a bit more faster with the next book so I can finish this up and move on to something else.
